Lincoln City progress in the FA Cup after a 3-1 victory over Solihull Moors.
The Imps made two changes from the winning starting line up in the previous round. Katie Williams, Leah Hardy and Emily Atkinson made way for Jeorgia Carr, Jess Rousseau and Toni McHamilton.
It didn't take long for the stalemate to be broken. Just five minutes into the game, Lauryn Wilcock received the ball and tapped it to McHamilton, who had a clear shot on goal. The Solihull goalkeeper was slow to react and the Imps took a 1-0 lead.
End to end play followed that opening goal, with Moors undeterred by the fact they were trailing. Both teams had an abundance of shots on goal, however few were on target.
Moors equalised in the 25th minute when what looked to be a cross found the far top corner of the net.
It didn't take long for Lincoln to regain the lead. A long cross from Rousseau found McHamilton, who passed to Amy Blinkhorn on the edge of the box. Blinkhorn calmly fired the ball into the back of the net.
Half time 2-1
The second half got off to a good start for the Imps too.
Katy Thornley was brought down just inside the box and the Imps were awarded a penalty. McHamilton stepped up to take it and easily bypassed the keeper to make it 3-1.
Moors still weren't out of the game. They persevered and had several on target shots but weren't able to get the better of Amy Halloran in goal.
An extended injury break was forced late on in normal time as Solihull striker Leah Seivwright sustained an ankle injury and was carried off the pitch.
The game continued for an additional six minutes, in which time Lincoln scored two goals that were ruled offside.
