Lincoln City Women has released the pre-season fixtures for both the First and Reserve teams.
The First Team will be meeting some former rivals as well as some new tests. Here's a rundown:
Sheffield FC: The two teams met in the 2019-20 pre-season, with the Imps winning 4-3. The visitors play one league above, in the Norther Premier Division. When the 2020-21 season was curtailed, they sat 10th of 12 in the league.
Wolves: The two teams have met so many times, this game hardly needs a summary. The Imps are yet to beat Wolves but the margin is always fine.
Nottingham Forest: Forest visited the Imps for a friendly in April and won 3-2. They're a higher-league opposition, playing in the Northern Premier Division.
Stoke City: The teams met in the Pygott & Crone Cup in May. Stoke, also in the Northern Premier Division, held the Imps to a 2-2 draw.
Bradford City: The teams have never met before. Bradford were near the top of North Division One when the 2019-20 season was voided but were struggling in the 2020-21 campaign.
Derby County: Derby visited the Imps for the 2020-21 pre-season. They won 1-0 in a very tight game. This fixture could see the return of Ellie Gilliatt, but as an opponent, not a teammate.
Aston Villa: The full time outfit travelled to face Lincoln earlier this year and scored double figures. The Imps will be looking to end their pre-season on a high against a tough opposition.
The Reserves Team will be up against some tough opponents, too. They will face four other reserve sides from teams in higher leagues as well as three First Teams for tier 5 clubs.
All First Team home games will be at Moorlands Sport and Social Club, LN6 8RT. The Reserves will play at Active Nation Yarborough.
